Middletown Concert Chorale is the only community chorale in the Middletown area. We hold special spring and holiday concerts, providing a stage for our community's passion for music. Our chorale offers a space for anyone who loves to sing or attend a performance, regardless of their age, training, or background.
Dr. David Crone is a Music Department faculty member with the Monroe-Woodbury High School located in Central Valley, New York. Dr. Crone is also the Director of Jubilate, a premiere youth choir in the Hudson Valley. He has held principal posts as Director of Artistic Education and Assistant Conductor of the Boys Choir of Harlem in New York City, and Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Pro Arte Chorale in New Jersey. Dr. Crone has prepared choruses for performances with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Westfield Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Wind Symphony. Recent performances include Carmina Burana at Carnegie Hall, Rutter’s Mass of the Children at Avery Fischer Hall, and the North American premiere of Johan de Meij’s Symphony No. 4.
Dr. Crone’s credits also include traveling to the United Kingdom, where he took part in conducting for the Liverpool Capital of Culture Festival as well as conducting at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. He most recently conducted the Jubilate Choir at the University of Denver for the Sing A Mile High Choral Festival. Dr. Crone is often in demand as a guest conductor making appearances at numerous choral festivals throughout the Northeast. As of late, you can find him featured in a new CD where he is conducting the works of Samuel Barber and pianist/composer Richard Kimball.
Dr. Crone received his Bachelor’s Degree, from Berklee College of Music, his Master’s Degree in Conducting from Temple University under Alan Harler, and his Doctorate from Seton Hall University, with additional studies in Conducting with Donald Neuen at the Eastman School of Music, and Lorna Cooke DeVaron at the New England Conservatory.
